As our workload continues to grow, we are looking for a hardworking and reliable Labourer to join our team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and wants to develop a long-term career within the construction industry.
The Role
As a Skilled Labourer, you will play an important role in supporting our site teams and ensuring projects run efficiently and safely. You will assist other skilled tradespeople across a variety of residential construction projects and help maintain the high standards expected by 1989 Homes Ltd.
No two days are the same, and you will gain experience across all stages of residential construction.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting builders and skilled tradespeople with daily site activities.
- Carrying out a variety of skilled tasks, alone and under supervision.
- Preparing work areas and ensuring trades have the materials and equipment required.
- Assisting with deliveries and stock management.
- Supporting groundworks, demolition, and general construction activities.
- Carrying out instructed tasks under supervision and alone.
- Following instructions from site management.
Site Maintenance
- Keeping sites clean, tidy, and organised.
- Removing waste materials and maintaining designated storage areas.
- Ensuring tools and equipment are stored safely.
- Helping maintain a professional appearance on all projects.
Customer Service

- Represent the company positively at all times.
- Respect customers' homes and property throughout the duration of projects.
Health & Safety
- Follow all company health and safety procedures.
- Wear and maintain appropriate PPE.
- Assist in maintaining safe working practices on site.
- Report hazards, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.
Essential Requirements
- Previous labouring or construction experience preferred.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Physically fit and capable of carrying out manual work.
- Reliable, punctual, and hardworking.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work well as part of a team.
- Experience using basic hand and power tools.
Desirable Qualifications
- Full UK Driving Licence preferred.
- Previous experience within residential construction.
- First Aid certification.
- Nvq level 1/2/3 in an appropriate trade/sector.
