Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Roofer to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining roofing systems on a variety of buildings. This role requires a strong understanding of roofing techniques, safety procedures, and the ability to work at heights. Responsibilities
- Reading and interpreting schematics, technical drawings, and specifications to determine roofing requirements.
- Installing new roofs using various materials such as tiles, shingles, or metal sheets.
- Repairing or replacing damaged roofing components to ensure weatherproofing and structural integrity.
- Operating power tools, hand tools, and specialised equipment safely and efficiently.
- Fabricating custom components using welding, carpentry, masonry, or plumbing skills as needed.
- Performing heavy lifting of materials and equipment to facilitate installation or repairs.
- Ensuring all work complies with health and safety regulations, including working at heights and using fall protection equipment.
- Assisting in the maintenance of scaffolding and other temporary structures used during roofing projects.
- Collaborating with team members to complete projects on time and to high standards.
Experience
- Proven experience in roofing or related construction trades such as carpentry, masonry, plumbing, or fabrication.
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques.
- Knowledge of different roofing materials and installation methods.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently over extended periods.
- Prior experience working at heights and adhering to safety protocols is essential.
