Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Sheet Metal Fabricator to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and finishing sheet metal components with precision and attention to detail. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong mechanical aptitude and experience in metalwork to contribute to high-quality production processes. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years experience.
Duties
- Fabricate sheet metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications using hand tools and power tools.
- Operate machinery such as CNC Press brakes, grinders, welders, and other fabrication equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform cutting, folding, welding, grinding, and assembly of sheet metal components to meet quality standards.
- Measure, mark, and cut materials accurately using basic math skills and appropriate tooling.
- Maintain a clean and organised work area, ensuring all safety protocols are followed.
- Inspect finished products for defects or deviations from specifications and make necessary adjustments.
- Assist in the setup and calibration of tooling and equipment as required.
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines while maintaining high standards of quality.
Experience
- Proven experience in sheet metal fabrication or a related mechanical field is essential.
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, grinders, welders, and other fabrication equipment.
- Knowledge of sheet metal properties, assembly techniques, and basic mathematical calculations for measurements.
- Familiarity with reading technical drawings and schematics.
- Mechanical knowledge combined with the ability to operate tooling safely is essential.
