Multi-Site Duty Manager ( 16 to 40 Hours ) – Reading Area

Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

As a Multi-Site Duty Manager for the Reading area, you will be responsible for maintaining exceptional service standards, smooth day-to-day operations, and a safe, welcoming environment across multiple corporate fitness sites. Acting as a key point of contact for members, residents, clients, and contractors, you will support the successful running of each location while adapting to the needs of different sites. This is a hands-on operational role that requires strong organisation, flexibility, and a proactive approach to service delivery.

As an integral member of our team, you will uphold and live our core values of Excellence, Accountability, Integrity, and Teamwork, ensuring they guide everything you do. There is potential to deliver personal training sessions across multiple Reading sites with further opportunities to support London-based sites. Experience delivering fitness classes is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

General:

Ø To always show a professional attitude, particularly regarding punctuality and general manners

Ø Acting as the main point of contact for all queries from members

Ø Will perform as a professional, with a friendly business attitude, and carry out all duties and responsibilities as required by the position or assigned by the Area Manager across multiple sites.

Ø Manage daily operations across multiple facilities within the Reading area, ensuring consistent service standards, operational efficiency, and strong member experience at each site.

Ø Adhere to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain top-tier standards of cleanliness, and safety.

Ø Manage members’ relations, resolve any complaints or issues, and go above and beyond to ensure client satisfaction.

Ø Monitor and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

Ø Attend regular staff training programs to ensure that you understand the company’s commitment to excellence.

Operations:

Ø Dealing with booking requests for club activities, including inductions, fitness classes, and personal training sessions where applicable.

Ø Ensure that the reception area is tidy, clean and stocked at all times

Ø Carry out Opening and Closing procedures and ensure all set up protocols are followed for all areas

Ø Be responsible for the cleanliness of the entire Club and ensure that the facility standards and maintenance are always 100% by regular documented walk-through’s and follow up on issues

Ø Follow all Educated Body Standards and Procedures

Ø Efficiently deal with incoming and outgoing packages, i.e., FedEx, UPS, etc.

Customer Service:

Ø To assist in the smooth flow of the members’ journey throughout the day

Ø Ensure that all member enquiries and processing service requests and booking requests are dealt with quickly and efficiently

Ø To always ensure a warm friendly welcome to all members.

Ø Must have the ability to courteously interact and answer all Club related questions, including health & fitness related advice with members.

Ø Must have good telephone skills and follow Educated Body telephone etiquette.

Ø Carrying out member inductions

Ø Storing & recording lost property

Facility Management and Maintenance:

Ø Identify and report defects throughout the Club and ensure that all hazards, injuries, defective equipment or processes are dealt with and reported in the correct manner

Ø Carrying out daily & weekly preventative maintenance checks & tasks on all pieces of gym equipment

Training:

Ø Must attend all training courses as deemed necessary

Ø To receive training to ensure that all-relevant legislation pertaining to Health and Safety at work Law and Health and Hygiene standards are implemented and monitored within the Club

Ø Performance management through regular 121s and OKR’s. (Objectives and key result setting)

Health and Safety:

Ø Carrying out opening & closing health & safety & cleanliness checks

Ø Carrying out regular facility checks in regard to cleanliness & health & safety in all areas of the facility.

Ø Adhering to operating procedures: SOP/EAP

Ø Logging & Reporting of any equipment that may be out of order

Any other reasonable task as requested by your line manager

Skills and Experience

Must:

Ø Good written and verbal command in the English Language.

Ø Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time often switching from one to another without loss of efficiency or composure

Ø Must be detailed oriented, friendly and organized

Ø Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills required

Ø Good standards of computer literacy in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Excel

Ø Minimum of 2 years of experience in the health club, fitness, leisure, or hospitality industry.

Ø Good knowledge of health and wellness trends.

Ø Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification

Desirable:

Ø First Aid

Ø Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification is desirable for candidates interested in delivering personal training, and experience delivering fitness classes is highly desirable.

Renumeration:

Ø Competitive hourly rate for the Multi-Site Duty Manager role.
