Overview
The role of Sergeant is pivotal in overseeing and coordinating various landscaping and groundskeeping activities. This position requires a proactive individual with strong leadership skills and a passion for maintaining outdoor spaces. The Sergeant will be responsible for supervising a team, ensuring that all tasks related to landscape maintenance, gardening, and groundskeeping are executed efficiently and to a high standard.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and lead a team in landscape maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Oversee the maintenance of gardens, including planting, pruning, and irrigation.
- Coordinate groundskeeping activities to maintain the aesthetic appeal and functionality of outdoor areas.
- Utilise power tools and hand tools effectively for various landscaping tasks.
- Build and maintain structures as required for garden enhancement or functionality.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working order.
- Provide training and guidance to team members on mechanical knowledge related to landscaping equipment.
- Dig, irrigate, and maintain soil health to promote healthy plant growth.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations while operating machinery and tools.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping is preferred.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools safely.
