Responsibilities:
· To plan and deliver art and design lessons for Year 1 and Year 2 of the A level, a pre A level programme and a Foundation programme .
· Manage studio space and resources in Fashion/ Textiles.
· Deliver learning programmes in line with individual needs of students and across the fashion and textile subject areas.
· Plan, prepare and deliver highly innovative lesson plans, schemes of work and teaching resources in line with the School ethos and development plan.
· Accurately assess student work, give appropriate feedback, and maintain records of students' progress and development.
· Be an active member of the School’s IV process.
· Maintain up-to-date subject knowledge, and devise and write new curriculum materials.
· Be familiar with a range of different learning resources and specialist equipment.
· Raise achievement and student attainment to the highest academic and creative levels, particularly in portfolio development.
· Undergo regular lesson observations and participate in regular in-service training (INSET) as part of continuing professional development (CPD).
· Contribute to the wider curriculum and participate in extra-curricular activities.
· Attend trips and support with any extension activities, attending to welfare matters of students.
· Create a safe, healthy classroom environment.
· Work towards and contribute to the aims and objectives of the School’s and department’s development plan.
· Participate in the School's Performance Management programme and Continuing Professional Development programme to ensure your own professional and personal development in relation to the School's objectives.
· Participate in the School's annual monitoring and reporting requirements to ensure effective management and administration of the curriculum.
· Communicate with all members of ISCA staff regarding important matters (education, boarding, welfare and administration).
· Progression
· Support the academic aspect of Fashion and Textiles students progressing to Higher Education, in particular.
· Research progression opportunities to HE in Fashion and Textiles and related subject areas.
· Prepare students for progression to HE; facilitate and provide guidance for students applying for Higher Education courses including personal statements, references and UCAS applications.
· Maintain professional standards at all times.
· Safeguard the wellbeing of students in line with School policy.
· Carry out all duties with an awareness and understanding of the Safeguarding requirements within the area of responsibility.
· Work complies with all safeguarding policies and procedures that apply to the role. Behaviours and actions support the safeguarding of children, young people or adults with care and support needs as appropriate.
Pay: £38,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
