Land Teacher
40 Hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Qualified Teacher Salary: £28,887 - £40,990
Unqualified Teacher Salary: £26,538 - £33,474 (starting salary dependent on qualifications and experience)
This is an exciting opportunity to join Brantwood Garden School as a Land Teacher.
You will be required to deliver a Land work curriculum, to create an appropriate learning environment to support the learning and development needs of individual students, as well as groups of students.
You will also be required to support the day-to-day running of the site with regards to the land.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Planning and delivering high‑quality land‑based learning sessions for groups of students,
- Developing and embedding curriculum opportunities for land‑based education across the school
- Ensuring that biodynamic principles are fully integrated within Brantwood Garden School
- Supporting the ongoing creation and development of a coherent land‑based curriculum and biodynamic strategy across all school sites
- Working closely with teachers, contributing to the planning of therapeutic and educational learning programmes
- Supporting staff development through training and the delivery of workshops focused on biodynamic practice
- Running LANTRA-accredited training courses to students including lawn mowing, hedge trimming and brush cutters.
The role requires you to be comfortable and competent in the safe use of land management machinery, with the ability to effectively demonstrate its operation and support students in developing their practical skills.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Experience in teaching and hold a teaching qualification. However, we would still welcome applications from individuals who have not yet achieved this but are willing to train and learn.
- Ideally trained in Biodynamic Agriculture or willing to attend training and work towards a qualification
- Knowledge and experience (desirable) of working in specialist education and have an understanding of the Ruskin Mill Trust method of Practical Skills Therapeutic Education (PSTE)
- A full driving licence is essential for this role

Brantwood Garden School is located on the outskirts of Sheffield. In addition to the main campus it includes a smallholding and a theatre/performing arts space.
