An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team at Fowey River Practice on a fixed-term basis for 12 months for 4 sessions a week.
Located on the beautiful south coast of Cornwall, Fowey River Practice serves a patient population of approximately 8,500 patients across our three sites in Fowey, Par, and Polruan. We are a traditional, patient-centred rural practice committed to delivering high-quality, compassionate care to our patients.

Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including history-taking and physical examinations, with a focus on anatomy knowledge and patient care
- Diagnose and manage acute and chronic medical conditions across all age groups
- Administer medications safely and effectively, adhering to best practice guidelines
- Coordinate referrals for specialised investigations such as medical imaging and laboratory tests
- Develop personalised treatment plans and provide ongoing monitoring of patient progress
- Educate patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and management strategies
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
- Support safeguarding processes and clinical governance activities
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams (nurses, pharmacists, paramedics, social prescribers)
- Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate
- There may be on occasion, a requirement to carry out other tasks; this will be dependent upon factors such as workload and staffing levels
Qualifications
- Medical degree recognised by the GMC with full registration and a valid licence to practise medicine in the UK
