Full Time Baker at Mettricks - across various sites in the Southampton Area

With four buzzing locations across West Quay, Woolston, Guildhall, and Portswood, we’ve built our reputation on serving up fresh, honest food and exceptional home-roasted coffee — all in beautifully designed spaces full of character and community.

We’re now expanding our offering with a brand-new Bakery Central Kitchen — and we’re looking for an experienced Baker to take support our Head Baker in creating delicious cakes and pastries.

The Role

We’re looking for a reliable and passionate Baker to support our Head Baker in the day-to-day running of the kitchen. This is a hands-on role where you’ll assist in producing a range of high-quality pastries and cakes, helping ensure everything is prepared to a consistently high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Support the Head Baker in preparing and baking bread, pastries, cakes, and desserts
Follow established recipes and assist with maintaining consistency and quality
Help with cake decorating and finishing products to a high standard
Assist with daily production planning and preparation
Ensure kitchen cleanliness and adhere to food safety and hygiene standards
Help monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients
Step in to support the Head Baker during busy periods or absence

About You

Experience in baking, pastry, or a similar kitchen role
A willingness to learn and develop baking skills
Good attention to detail and pride in presentation
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Strong teamwork and communication skills
Flexibility to work early mornings
