Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Food Runner/Server to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a passion for guest service, and experience in food handling and delivery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a vibrant restaurant environment at The white Lion Pub In Amersham HP7 9LJ , providing exceptional service to our guests while supporting the kitchen and front-of-house operations. All positions are paid, including internships, ensuring fair compensation for your valuable contribution.
Responsibilities
- Deliver prepared food from the kitchen to guests promptly and accurately, ensuring presentation standards are maintained
- Assist servers with meal delivery and clearing tables to optimise guest experience
- Support the kitchen team with basic food preparation tasks when required, adhering to food safety standards
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of service areas, including side stations and dining spaces
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff regarding order modifications or special requests
- Greet guests courteously, providing attentive guest services and responding promptly to their needs
- Uphold high standards of hygiene and safety in all aspects of food handling and service
- Manage phone etiquette when taking reservations or answering guest inquiries professionally
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, restaurant service, or food delivery is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper handling procedures
- Experience with food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations is desirable
- Familiarity with guest services, serving techniques, and meal presentation standards
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team
- Experience as a delivery driver or courier is a plus but not essential
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail in order accuracy and timing
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during busy service periods
- A friendly demeanour with good phone etiquette and interpersonal skills
