Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Sales Ledger Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing sales ledger processes, ensuring accurate data entry, and maintaining strong relationships with clients. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in financial services and experience with various accounting software to develop their skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the sales ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded using Sage accounting software
- Process customer invoices and submitting onto client portals where applicable
- Perform data entry tasks related to sales transactions, maintaining precise records in compliance with company policies
- Assist with credit control activities, including chasing overdue payments via telemarketing or phone calls with professional phone etiquette
- Analyse sales data to identify discrepancies or irregularities and report findings to senior management
- Support month-end closing procedures by preparing relevant reports and Statements
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve billing issues and improve overall financial processes
Requirements
- Proven experience working with accounting software such as Sage
- Strong data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of financial services industry practices is desirable
- Experience in accounts payable or receivable roles is preferred
- Excellent analysis skills to interpret financial data effectively
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently
- Good telephone etiquette and communication skills for liaising with clients and internal teams
- Familiarity with telemarketing techniques for debt collection or client follow-up activities is advantageous
- Ability to work independently whilst being a proactive team player
Pay: £14.58 per hour
