Operations Manager – Carpet World Barrow

Carpet World Barrow is one of the region's largest independent retailers of carpets, flooring, sofas, beds, garden furniture and home furnishings. Due to continued growth, we are looking for a highly organised and motivated Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day running of our business.
This is a hands-on management role where no two days are the same. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our retail store, warehouse, delivery teams and customer service functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily operations across retail, warehouse and delivery departments
- Lead and motivate a team of warehouse, delivery and showroom staff
- Monitor stock levels, stock accuracy and inventory management
- Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries
- Improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Manage staff rotas, performance and recruitment
- Handle customer escalations and service issues
- Work closely with senior management to achieve business objectives
- Implement systems and procedures to support future growth
- Monitor KPIs and provide regular performance reports
The Ideal Candidate
- Previous management experience within retail, logistics, furniture, flooring or a similar industry
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Commercial awareness with a focus on profitability and efficiency
- Confident using computer systems and Microsoft Office
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
- Full UK Driving Licence
