An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team.
Crisis and Home Treatment has an emphasis on being able to support in the most complex times of a young persons life, and help them to stabilise their mental health.
Working in collaboration with the CAMHS Liaison Team which focusses assessing 18yr olds and under within our acute hospitals. Crisis also work in collaboration with community teams, GPs, schools, social care, inpatient wards. Both services support young people and their families therapeutically to help them navigate through the period of crisis.
You must be a Registered Nurse, Dip SW or equivalent social work qualification (CSS, CQSW, DipSW, degree in social work), Allied Health Professional registered with the HCPC and accredited by a HCPC recognised body e.g. BABCP.
Please note that this post may not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker Visa.
Successful applicants with no prior NHS experience would normally be placed at the bottom of the band in line with Agenda for Change. This salary is below the minimum salary required for sponsorship for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa. In these circumstances the Trust would not, therefore, be able to sponsor for a Skilled Worker / Health & Care visa.

As a CAMHS Crisis Mental Health Practitioner, you will:
Work as part of an MDT to assess, formulate and support young people and their families when they are in a crisis situation and require access to mental health support. This may be in the community or in one of the acute hospitals.
Offer targeted follow up interventions in a range of therapeutic modalities and training will be provided to help staff continue to build their careers.
Manage mental health risk and work with the network around the young person to ensure safety and wellbeing.

The CAMHS Urgent Care Teams, incorporating Crisis, Home Treatment and Liaison pathways, are welcoming, friendly and dedicated to ensuring that young people in a mental health crisis get access to the right support in the right place at the right time. The teams are busy, supportive and encouraging of new and creative ways to innovate and improve the service we deliver.
We are an 8 am to 8 pm service operating a self-rostering system for our staff.
The aim is to support Children and Young People in the community to avoid admissions to inpatient services and acute hospitals
Our team work Long Days of 8am – 8pm for the CAMHS Crisis and Intensive Home Treatment Team ( this team) and Nights of 8pm – 8am for the CAMHS Crisis Liaison Team . Rotas are prepared well in advance and we aim to promote staff wellbeing and work / life balance.
Enhancements are paid for weekend and evening / night working.
Observe and adhere to the CAMHS Service Specification, vision, aims and objectives'
Offer clinical assessment and evidence-based interventions whilst observing current best practice, legislation and guidance.
Working within Children and Young People’s Improved Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) frameworks and principles.
Aim to be innovative and creative in the delivery of therapeutic interventions/care bundle, and offer psycho- education to children, young people and families around their mental health crisis needs.
Contribute to a shared team caseload whilst considering and adhering to
safeguarding policies and procedures and national and local
legislation and guidance.
Offer support and supervision to junior colleagues and receive regular Clinical and Managerial supervision to maintain practice.
Plan and successfully manage smooth transitions where they are clinically indicated.
Seek support from the Clinical and Operational Leads and Clinical Nurse Specialists / Senior Specialist Practitioners where needed.
Support peers and colleagues and promote a team working environment.
Ensure suitable risk management and care plans are formulated for all clinical cases.
Maintain contemporaneous records in alignment with Trust policy.
Work in partnership with other teams within the Nottinghamshire and bordering CAMHS Services.
To offer consultation through a range of initiatives to professionals with an aim of enhancing workforce skills, knowledge and capacity in recognising emotional/mental health and well-being needs and undertaking interventions with children and families to achieve positive outcomes.
To participate in the delivery of a range of training programmes to multi -agency staff in conjunction with the CAMHS Training Lead.
Support colleagues and stakeholders in tackling stigma relating to mental health.
Be willing to undertake training relating to the CYP IAPT agenda and other areas of development as outlined.
A full UK driving licence and vehicle for business use is preferred for this post; however reasonable adjustments will be made for disabled individuals in line with the Equality Act 2010.
