Overview
We are seeking a skilled Industrial Sewing Machinist to join our manufacturing team. Producing office seating, including operator chairs, sofas, booths, and soft seating. The ideal candidate will have experience operating industrial sewing machines and a background in a production environment. The successful applicant will be responsible for producing high-quality sewn products efficiently and accurately, ensuring that all items meet company standards.
Duties
- Operate various types of industrial sewing machines to produce fabric-based products according to specifications
- Set up and adjust sewing machines for different tasks, ensuring optimal performance
- Monitor the quality of sewn items throughout the production process, making adjustments as necessary
- Maintain a clean and organised work area to ensure safety and efficiency
- Assist with inventory management by organising materials and supplies in the warehouse
- Collaborate with team members to meet production targets and deadlines
- Follow health and safety guidelines at all times during operations
Experience
- Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Proven sewing skills, with experience operating industrial sewing machines essential
- Familiarity with different fabrics, vinyls and leather and sewing techniques is advantageous
- Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Willingness to learn new processes and adapt to evolving production requirements
