Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Kitchen Porter/Kitchen Assistant to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will assist with various kitchen duties, ensuring a clean and efficient workspace, and supporting our culinary staff in delivering exceptional food and service.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Cleaning and Sanitation
Ensure all kitchen areas, including floors, walls, equipment, and surfaces, are kept spotless and sanitized.
Regularly clean and maintain ovens, grills, fryers, and other kitchen equipment to operational standards.
Deep-clean specific areas or items when required.
Dishwashing and Utensil Management
Operate dishwashers to clean plates, cutlery, glassware, and cooking equipment.
Hand-wash delicate or heavy items as needed.
Organise and store clean dishes and equipment systematically.
Waste Disposal
Collect, separate, and dispose of all kitchen waste responsibly.
Manage recycling processes and ensure bins are emptied and cleaned daily.
Maintain a clean and tidy waste area, adhering to health and safety standards.
Stock Management
Assist with receiving and unpacking deliveries, ensuring correct storage of perishable and non-perishable items.
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify supervisors of shortages.
Rotate stock to ensure compliance with food safety standards (FIFO system).
Assisting Chefs and Kitchen Team
Support basic food preparation tasks, such as peeling, chopping, and portioning ingredients.
Set up and break down kitchen stations as needed.
Be ready to assist with any ad-hoc tasks requested by the kitchen team.
Health and Safety Compliance
Follow all food safety regulations and The Wildcard’s internal hygiene policies.
Wear appropriate protective gear and maintain a professional appearance at all times.
Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to the management team.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £10.85-£13.00 per hour

Experience:

Kitchen : 1 year (preferred)
Hospitality: 1 year (required)
