Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Emergency First Responder to provide immediate medical assistance in emergency situations. This vital role involves delivering critical care, ensuring patient safety, and supporting medical teams in fast-paced environments. Duties
- Deliver basic life support (BLS) and advanced patient care during emergencies
- Conduct physical examinations and assess patient conditions rapidly and accurately
- Administer medications following established protocols
- Perform triage to prioritise patients based on severity of injuries or illnesses
- Apply aseptic techniques during procedures to prevent infection
- Utilise physiology and anatomy knowledge to inform treatment decisions
- Support critical care interventions as required, including airway management and vital sign monitoring
- Assist with hospital transfers, including safe driving of emergency vehicles when necessary
- Maintain detailed documentation of all interventions and patient information
- Operate within hospital or emergency response environments, adhering strictly to safety standards
Requirements
- Certification in FREC 3 or above.
- Proven experience in patient care, preferably within hospital or critical care settings
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, medical terminology, and medication administration
- Experience with physical examinations, and aseptic techniques
- Critical care experience highly desirable, with familiarity in triage procedures
- Valid driving licence with clean record for emergency vehicle operation (if applicable)
- Physical fitness capable of heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or movement during shifts
- Ability to work under pressure in high-stress environments with excellent decision-making skills
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to healthcare regulations
This role is essential for providing immediate life-saving interventions while supporting ongoing patient care. Candidates should be organised, compassionate, and prepared to work in a fast-paced environment requiring both technical expertise and physical resilience.
Pay: £13.50-£15.00 per hour
