Accounts Assistant (Trainee)

Hours: Full Time

Study Support: Day release or online study support provided (HNC/AAT)

Overview

Supporting the finance team while working towards a recognised accountancy qualification. This role combines on-the-job training with study, making it ideal for someone starting a career in accounting or finance.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and enthusiastic individual looking to begin their first role in finance and build a long-term career in accountancy.

Key Responsibilities

Assisting with day-to-day financial transactions
Processing purchase invoices and sales invoices
Supporting with query management within the accounts payable function
Supporting with bank reconciliations
Helping prepare monthly financial accounts and reports
Maintaining accurate financial records, spreadsheets, and data entry
Handling supplier and customer queries professionally
Filing and carrying out general administrative duties within the finance team
Providing general support to the finance department as required

Training & Qualifications

Structured on-the-job training with mentorship
Day release or online study support (HNC/AAT)
Opportunity to gain practical finance experience while studying towards a recognised qualification

Skills & RequirementsEssential

2+ A Levels preferred
Good GCSEs including Maths and English
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organisational skills
Willingness to learn and develop professionally

Desirable

Interest in finance, accounting, or business
Good communication skills
Problem-solving ability
