Job Description

We are a growing and well-established accountancy practice providing accountancy, taxation, bookkeeping and advisory services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individuals. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

Role

Provide Accountants with support in all areas of bookkeeping and accounts preparation including but not limited to:

Preparation of bookkeeping records for a portfolio of clients.
Preparation and submission of VAT returns.
Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts.
Assisting with the preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies.
Assisting with the preparation of tax returns for sole traders and partnerships.
Liaising directly with clients to obtain information and resolve queries.
Maintaining accurate client records and working papers.

Essential Skills

AAT qualified/part-qualified or qualified by experience.
Have good written and verbal communication skills to be able to deal with people at all levels.
Be willing to learn and develop your skills and experience.
Have good organisational skills that can be applied in a busy office environment.
Have excellent attention to detail.
Minimum 3 years' experience working within a UK accountancy practice environment.

This role is best suited to candidates with previous UK accountancy practice experience and either relevant qualifications or significant practical experience.

Desirable Skills

Experience using Xero, QuickBooks Online and Sage 50 Accounts would be advantageous.
Be IT literate with good working knowledge of MS Office.

Pay: £25,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
