Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator & Programmer to join our small joinery team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC machinery to produce high-quality components. This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals with a strong aptitude and experience in joinery and related processes. The successful applicant will contribute to the efficient production of complex parts, ensuring adherence to safety standards and quality specifications.
Duties
- Programme CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as Cabinet Sense, Sketch-up, and Vetric Vcarve
- Set up CNC equipment, including calibration and tooling selection, to meet production specifications.
- Operate CNC with precision, ensuring accurate machining of parts.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on CNC machinery to minimise downtime.
- Use hand tools and power tools for assembly, fitting, and finishing of machined components.
- Conduct inspections of finished parts using basic measurement tools and verify dimensions against technical drawings.
- Assist in the development of tooling setups and optimise machining parameters for efficiency.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in CNC programming and operation, ideally within a joinery environment specialising in plastics injection moulding.
- Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, along with familiarity with CAM programming.
- Knowledge of joinery and the processes involved in bespoke furniture.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and utilise hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments accurately.
- Basic maths skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and machining parameters.
- Knowledge of assembly procedures and the use of hand tools for finishing tasks is advantageous.
- A proactive attitude with excellent organisational skills and attention to detail is essential for success in this role.
