Job Title:Lead Pharmacy Technician – Dispensary Services
Salary: Competitive (Band 6 equivalent, TLC Point 23–29)

Job Type: Full-time, 12 Month FTC Contract
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday – Sunday as rostered)
We are currently looking to recruit a Lead Pharmacy Technician/ Deputy Dispensary Manager to take a senior role within our Dispensary & Distribution Services team. This is 12 month fixed term position is responsible for leading, managing and coordinating a safe, efficient and high-quality, technician-led dispensary service.
You will work autonomously, using your initiative to plan, prioritise and manage dispensary operations, while ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, procedures and legislation. You will also deputise for the Dispensary & Distribution Manager when required.

Lead and manage pharmacy technicians and assistants within the dispensary
- Ensure efficient workflow and workload management across dispensary services
- Oversee safe, accurate and timely dispensing of medications
- Undertake final accuracy checking of dispensed items (ACPT qualified)
- Provide medication counselling and drug information within scope of practice
- Support clinical trials dispensing in line with GCP and regulatory standards
- Maintain accurate records for controlled drugs, unlicensed medicines and named-patient supplies
- Investigate dispensing errors, incidents and complaints, implementing improvements
- Monitor adherence to SOPs and contribute to service development initiatives

Registered Pharmacy Technician with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
- BTEC/NVQ Level 3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences (or equivalent)
- Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician (ACPT) qualification
- Minimum 3 years’ post-registration experience in hospital pharmacy
- At least 2 years’ supervisory or management experience
- Strong knowledge of medicines legislation, governance and risk management
- Experience in stock control, SOP development and audit processes
- Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
