Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and professional Van Driver to operate on a casual basis, self-employed. This role involves delivering goods efficiently and safely, with the vehicle provided. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivery driving and possess excellent communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction. This position offers flexibility and independence, suitable for individuals seeking self-employment opportunities in the transportation sector.

If you have at least one free day per week this is for you, it involves leaving our Birmingham depot early in the morning and traveling long distances to deliver heavy doors , you are required to be physically fit to handle the items with the customer on delivery.

You will be joining our bank of drivers and you choose to accept work or not, if accepted you obtain the route via our app that you will be given access to and we will get the vehicle ready the night before departure and give you a code to retrieve the vehicle.

Payday is next day following the shift you work so if you complete a shift Monday payment is made Tuesday morning etc. ( Friday deliveries are paid Monday morning)

Minimum hours is usually 10, maximum in line will current legislation.

Responsibilities

Safely operate the provided van driving to complete deliveries across designated routes.
Ensure timely collection and drop-off of goods, maintaining schedules
Conduct routine vehicle checks and report any maintenance issues promptly
Unload items, which may involve heavy lifting, ensuring proper handling and safety procedures are followed
Communicate effectively with clients and dispatch teams regarding delivery statuses or delays
Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies during operations

Experience

Proven delivery driver experience, preferably within a home based service.
Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record 3 pts maximum. No DD or NI convictions.
Experience in commercial driving or operating larger vehicles is advantageous
Familiarity with warehouse procedures and handling heavy loads is desirable
Strong communication skills to interact professionally with clients and team members
Ability to manage time efficiently and work independently under minimal supervision

Pay: £14.00 per hour
