Full job description

At Philip Watkins Ltd we manufacture a wide range of machinery for the agricultural industry. We offer a personalised service to our customers by specialising in bespoke machinery. We are a small business, with a total of 14 employees.

Plater/Welder

Job Description

· We require a self-motivated person that can work on their own and as part of a small team

· MUST be competent at plating bespoke items from drawings and some jig work

· MUST have experience of the following: general marking out, sawing, guillotine, punch & drill

· MUST be able to weld competently with at least 2 years fully trained experience

· Experience of the following would be beneficial: press brake, forklift, profile plasma cutting and flame cutting

· The job consists of mainly plating but will involve some welding.

· We work with mild steel mainly between 6mm and 25mm using MIG welders

Job Type

· Permanent position

Working Hours

· Start date: immediate

· Standard working hours: 40 hours per week 8:00am - 4:30pm Can be flexible if needed.

· 10-minute paid break, and a 30-minute unpaid break

· Overtime is available most weeks

Pay

· £14.00-£18.00 per hour dependent on experience including monthly bonus

· Overtime is paid at 1.333 which increases further into employment

· 22 holiday days plus bank holidays

· Auto enrollment pension

· Overtime increases to 1.5 after 2 years and 1.8 after 5 years
