Our goal is to deliver bespoke metalworks with a seamless, swift turnaround, all while dedicating the time needed for thoughtful craftsmanship and unwavering attention to detail and timeless artistry. Our workshops are located in the rural storybook setting of Stockbridge, Hampshire on the River Test.
Job Overview:
The primary role of the Quality & Procurement Coordinator is to ensure that all Guild works orders are manufactured, inspected, procured, and released in line with agreed quality standards, client expectations, production requirements, and commercial priorities.
This role combines two key areas of responsibility: quality control and procurement. The heavier emphasis of the role is on quality, as Guild continues to strengthen its quality systems, inspection standards, and right-first-time culture. The successful candidate will act as the main quality representative within Guild, carrying out dimensional checks, incoming goods inspections, in-process checks, and final quality control assessments before orders are released.
Alongside this, the role will also be responsible for procurement activity, ensuring that materials, components, subcontracted work, and outsourced services are sourced, ordered, tracked, inspected, and made available in line with production requirements. This will require close coordination with the Production Manager, Design/Technical teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and the wider Guild Bespoke Metalworks and Cox London Operations team.
As Guild develops towards a more formal Quality Management System, including future ISO 9001 alignment, the Quality & Procurement Coordinator will also support the creation, maintenance, and improvement of quality records, inspection processes, supplier controls, and documented procedures.
The role reports to the Group Quality Manager and will work closely with the Group Procurement Manager to ensure all Procurement activities are executed to a high standard.
Responsibilities - Quality Control and Inspection:
- Carry out incoming goods inspections on materials, components, subcontracted parts, and outsourced work, ensuring they meet purchase requirements, drawings, specifications, and expected quality standards.
- Complete dimensional checks and quality inspections on fabricated parts, assemblies, and finished works orders, using appropriate measuring tools and inspection methods.
- Conduct in-process and final quality control checks to ensure products meet Guild/Cox standards, client expectations, drawings, tolerances, and finish requirements before release.
- Review works orders, drawings, specifications, and technical information to understand quality requirements before and during production.
- Raise and record quality issues, non-conformances, and supplier defects, supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions where required.
- Help develop and maintain inspection records, checklists, quality controls, and documented evidence to support a stronger right-first-time culture and future ISO 9001 alignment.
Responsibilities - Procurement and Supplier Coordination
- Manage procurement activity for materials, components, consumables, subcontracted services, and outsourced work required for live and upcoming orders.
- Place, track, and manage purchase orders, ensuring supplier lead times, delivery dates, costs, and quality requirements are clearly communicated and monitored.
- Work with the Production Manager and wider team to ensure required materials and outsourced elements are available in line with the production schedule.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to resolve delivery, quality, cost, or specification issues in a timely and practical way.
- Support supplier performance monitoring, particularly around quality, delivery reliability, responsiveness, and recurring issues.
