Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant Pub Manager to support the daily operations of our vibrant pub. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities, extensive hospitality experience, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop managerial skills within a dynamic environment, ensuring the smooth running of the establishment while maintaining high standards of food safety and service excellence. The Assistant Pub Manager will be responsible for assisting with staff supervision, overseeing food and beverage service, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.

Duties

Assist in managing daily pub operations, ensuring efficient service delivery and customer satisfaction
Supervise and support team members, including bar staff, servers, and kitchen personnel
Oversee food preparation and cooking processes to maintain quality standards
Ensure adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards across all areas of the pub
Support in managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and controlling inventory
Assist with organising staff rotas and managing labour costs
Handle customer enquiries and resolve any issues promptly to uphold excellent service standards
Contribute to the development of menus, including food production planning and presentation
Maintain a welcoming atmosphere by supervising serving staff and engaging with patrons
Support marketing initiatives and promotional events to increase patronage

Skills

Proven experience in supervising or team management within a hospitality or restaurant setting
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking, and food safety procedures
Experience in food production, kitchen operations, or culinary roles such as barista experience or hotel experience is advantageous
Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
Outstanding organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly yet professional demeanour
Good understanding of hospitality standards, including serving protocols and beverage management
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
Knowledge of health & safety regulations relevant to food service environments
