Alright, let’s cut to the chase.
We’re A Plus Clean Ltd. (although increasingly becoming known as A Plus Services) and we’re looking for an experienced Carpenter / Multi-Trade Operative to join our growing maintenance team working primarily within Housing Association and Local Authority properties across the South Coast.
This is not a role for someone who wants an easy ride.
This is for someone who takes genuine pride in their work, enjoys solving problems, adapts under pressure and gets satisfaction from leaving a property better than they found it.
We need people with a first-time-fix mentality.

A Plus Clean began life back in 2007 specialising in exterior cleaning. Over time our customers trusted us more and more because of how we worked — honest communication, high standards and doing what we said we would do.

The Role
This is a varied multi-trade role with a strong carpentry bias.
You’ll primarily be working in occupied Housing Association and Local Authority properties carrying out reactive maintenance, planned works and compliance-based repairs.
Typical works may include:
- General carpentry repairs
- Fire door installs and remedial works in line with current legislation
- Door easing, overhauls and adjustments
- Kitchen repairs and installs
- Flooring repairs
- Boxing in and making good
- Locks, hinges and ironmongery
- Minor plumbing and patch repairs
- General multi-trade maintenance
- First-time-fix reactive works
Some days you’ll smash through a clean run of jobs.
Other days you’ll walk into chaos and need to think on your feet.
That’s the role.

What Makes You a Good Fit?
✅ Strong carpentry background with multi-trade capability
✅ Experience working in occupied properties
✅ A professional and respectful manner with tenants and clients
✅ Ability to manage workload and think independently
✅ Pride in workmanship and attention to detail
✅ Understanding of working safely and compliantly
✅ Full UK driving licence
✅ Comfortable using technology and job management systems
✅ Fire door experience would be a major advantage
✅ IPAF / PASMA desirable but not essential
✅ Willingness to undergo enhanced DBS checks
The Day-to-Day
No two days are the same.
You’ll start the morning with your job schedule, stock checked and van ready to go.
From there you’ll be out solving problems, helping customers and working closely with the office and wider team to deliver jobs safely, professionally and efficiently.
