OAL is looking for an experienced and commercially driven Technical Sales Manager to drive business growth across our automation and engineered solutions portfolio.
Working closely with the Commercial Director and wider commercial team, you will take ownership of a national sales territory, managing the full sales lifecycle from business development and customer engagement through to negotiation and contract close.
We are looking for a confident and credible sales professional with experience selling capital equipment, engineered solutions or technical products within a complex B2B environment. This role requires someone who is commercially astute, highly autonomous and comfortable operating at both strategic and operational levels.
OAL helps food manufacturers automate, delivering innovative technology solutions that improve efficiency, ensure compliance and support digital transformation across production operations. As Technical Sales Manager, you will work closely with customers to identify opportunities for improvement and deliver solutions that create measurable operational and commercial value.
Whilst experience within food manufacturing, automation or industrial technology would be advantageous, we welcome applications from candidates with a successful track record of selling capital equipment and technical solutions across a range of sectors.
- Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across the UK.
- Manage the full sales cycle from lead generation through to contract completion.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key decision-makers.
- Understand customer requirements and develop commercially viable technical solutions.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations and commercial agreements.
- Negotiate pricing, terms and contracts.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline activity and customer records.
- Work closely with technical and operational teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify market trends, competitor activity and opportunities for growth.
- Represent the business professionally at customer meetings, site visits and industry events.
- Achieve and exceed agreed sales targets and performance objectives.
What we are looking for
You will be a motivated and results-driven sales professional with a proven ability to develop customer relationships and win new business within a technical or industrial environment.
- Proven experience in B2B sales.
- Strong track record of selling capital equipment, technical products or engineered solutions.
- Proven success in winning new business and developing customer accounts.
- Confident in managing complex sales cycles and multiple stakeholders.
- Experience securing long-term customer agreements or strategic partnerships.
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and relationship management skills
- Team-orientated with a proactive mind-set
- Confident, credible and resilient
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
