Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and exceptional service. This role involves assisting with food preparation, maintaining cleanliness, and ensuring the smooth operation of the kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for catering, cooking, and food safety, with previous experience in a restaurant or kitchen setting being highly desirable. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop culinary skills and gain valuable experience within a professional kitchen. "must have previous kitchen experience"

Duties

Assist with meal preparation and food assembly according to specified recipes and standards
Support chefs and kitchen staff in daily operations, including ingredient organisation and inventory checks
Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and cooking equipment in compliance with food safety regulations
Prepare ingredients such as chopping vegetables, portioning ingredients, and assembling basic dishes
Serve food to customers or staff in a courteous and efficient manner
Follow health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment at all times
Assist with cleaning duties at the end of shifts to uphold hygiene standards
Support catering events by preparing and serving food as required

Requirements

Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is preferred
Knowledge of food preparation techniques and kitchen safety standards
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Good organisational skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately
Strong commitment to food safety practices and hygiene regulations
Excellent communication skills and a friendly attitude towards colleagues and customers
Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings or weekends if needed
A genuine interest in culinary arts and willingness to learn new skills

Pay: £12.71-£13.50 per hour
