Full job description

Job Summary

The Finance and Payroll Officer oversees day-to-day financial operations and payroll administration. This includes processing salaries, maintaining financial records, ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and supporting budgeting and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Payroll Management

Process monthly/weekly payroll accurately and on time
Maintain employee payroll records (salaries, deductions, bonuses, overtime)
Ensure compliance with tax laws, pensions, and statutory deductions
Handle payroll queries from employees
Prepare and submit payroll reports to management

Financial Operations

Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers
Process invoices, payments, and receipts
Perform bank reconciliations
Monitor cash flow and expenses
Manage accounts payable and receivable
Reconcile supplier and customer accounts

Key Skills and Competencies

Strong understanding of accounting principles
Knowledge of payroll systems and tax regulations
High attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero)
Advanced Excel skills
Good organizational and time-management abilities
Strong communication and confidentiality handling

Qualifications & Experience

2–5 years of experience in finance or payroll roles
Experience with payroll processing and financial reporting

Full UK Drivers Licence required

Pay: £24,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
