Purchasing Clerk (M&E Company)
We are a growing Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) company looking for a reliable and motivated Purchasing Clerk to join our team on an initial part-time fixed-term contract, with the potential to progress into a full-time permanent position based in person at our Head Office in Stapleford. Hours are flexible Monday to Friday with a minimum of 4 hours each day to begin.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is highly organised, confident working with numbers and data, and able to build strong relationships with suppliers and customers alike.
Key Responsibilities
- Processing purchase orders from supplier quotations
- Liaising with suppliers to obtain pricing, delivery updates, and negotiate costs
- Maintaining accurate purchasing and stock records
- Using Excel to analyse purchasing data, costs, and supplier performance
- Working with Sage 50 for purchase ledger and related administration
- Supporting the wider office and operations team with procurement tasks
- Delivering excellent customer service to both suppliers and clients
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings and process improvements
Requirements
- Strong Excel skills, including data analysis and reporting
- Working knowledge of Sage 50
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Organised, detail-oriented, and proactive approach
- Previous purchasing, procurement, or administrative experience preferred
- Experience within the construction or M&E industry would be advantageous
