Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Play Worker to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing environment for children and organising fun play activities, whilst ensuring a high standard of childcare and activity delivery.
Hours of work and rate of pay
After School Club hours are 2.45-5.45, 3-5 days a week. If you are interested in Breakfast Club hours, these may be available and are 7.20am- 8.50am, 3 days a week. In addition, we operate Holiday Clubs during every school holiday and various shifts are available here between 7.45am-5.15pm. *Rate of pay depends on age, experience and qualifications.
Responsibilities
- Organise and supervise play activities suitable for children age 4-11 years, ensuring safety at all times.
- Support children's social, emotional, and physical development through engaging play sessions.
- Manage behaviour effectively, promoting positive interactions among children.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist with setting up activity areas and preparing materials needed for play sessions.
- Ensure all activities are inclusive, accessible, and enjoyable for every child.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in childcare, nursery, or early childhood education settings is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Ability to demonstrate patience, empathy, and understanding when working with young children.
- Childcare qualifications or relevant certifications are preferred but not essential; training can be provided for suitable candidates. This role offers an enriching environment where your skills can flourish while making a positive impact on children's lives through engaging play activities.
