Duties
- Deliver engaging coding lessons tailored to the individual needs of students, including those with special educational requirements
- Assist learners in understanding fundamental programming concepts and problem-solving techniques
- Prepare lesson plans and educational materials to facilitate effective learning sessions
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback to encourage improvement
- Support students working with children by creating a welcoming and inclusive environment
- Adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles and abilities
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and areas for development
- Collaborate with parents or guardians where appropriate to discuss student progress and goals
Skills
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching, particularly in coding or computer science
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts in an accessible manner
- Experience working with children or individuals requiring special education support is highly desirable
- Ability to motivate and engage learners of diverse ages and backgrounds
- Organised, patient, and adaptable approach to teaching
- Knowledge of various programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scratch is advantageous
- Excellent organisational skills to plan lessons effectively and track student progress
