Job Overview
We are seeking a Roofer’s mate to join our team. The ideal candidate will learn strong skill set in roofing and construction, with the ability to work effectively with various materials and tools. This role requires a commitment to safety, attention to detail, and the ability to perform heavy lifting as necessary.
Duties
- Install, repair, and maintain roofing systems using various materials such as felt, batten, Tiles, slates, etc
- Read and interpret schematics and blueprints to ensure accurate installation.
- Utilise hand tools and power tools safely and effectively for roofing tasks.
- Perform welding and fabrication tasks as needed for specific roofing projects.
- Conduct carpentry work related to roof structures, including framing and sheathing.
- Assist with plumbing and masonry tasks that may be required during roofing installations or repairs.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment.
Qualifications
- CSCS card (required)
- Proven experience in roofing or a related construction field is essential. (But not essential)9
- Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and equipment specific to the roofing trade
- Physical stamina and strength to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 kg) as required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
