Ancoats, Manchester | Part-Time | In-Studio Role
Are you a media, audio or film student (or just passionate about content creation)? Want to get hands-on with some of the best podcasting equipment in a creative new space in Manchester? We’re looking for a motivated and reliable Media Assistant to join our team at Ancoats Podcast Studio.
This is a flexible part-time role, perfect for students or early-career creatives wanting to build experience in real-world production environments.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Assisting with setting up and operating podcast recording equipment, including:
- Blackmagic ATEM Mini Extreme (switching & live camera feeds)
- MixEffect App (iPad-based ATEM controller)
- Rodecaster Pro (audio interface & sound pads)
- Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 (audio enhancement & mic balancing)
- Helping clients get set up for their sessions (lighting, mics, cameras)
- Managing studio cleanliness, resets and re-preps between sessions
- Supporting content creators and providing tech assistance during recordings
- Troubleshooting basic AV issues and escalating when needed
What We're Looking For:
- Interest or studies in Media Production, Audio Engineering, Film, or Digital Content
- Familiarity with podcasting or streaming equipment (this is a MUST)
- Comfortable handling tech and learning new software/hardware (this is a MUST)
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently during shifts (this is a MUST)
Working Hours:
- 1–2 shifts per week (2–6 hours per shift), flexible around your studies
- Primarily weekdays, with occasional weekend opportunities
