The Executive Office are looking to recruit x2 Executive Support Assistants to join our experienced team supporting senior leaders at Bristol City Council.
This is a fast-paced and varied role, where you will provide high-quality administrative and business support to enable Senior Leaders and Executive Assistants to operate effectively. You will play an important role in helping the Executive Office run smoothly, ensuring that priorities are managed, information flows efficiently, and key activities are delivered on time.
You will take ownership of a defined area of executive administration, coordinating end-to-end processes such as meetings, events and business support activity, ensuring work is delivered accurately and to a high standard.
In this role you will:
- Provide day-to-day administrative support, including organising meetings, events and visits for senior leaders.
- Coordinate logistics such as agendas, papers, room bookings and follow-up actions.
- Work with colleagues and external stakeholders, responding to enquiries and building effective working relationships.
- Support operational delivery by resolving routine issues and managing competing priorities.
- Provide ad hoc cover and support where needed to ensure continuity of service.
- Be working collaboratively across the council in a professional, responsive and confidential environment, contributing to the delivery of a consistent, high-quality service.

- You have experience providing high-quality administrative or business support within a complex organisation.
- You are confident coordinating meetings, events or administrative processes from start to finish.
- You can organise and prioritise a varied workload, managing competing demands effectively.
- You have strong attention to detail and take pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
- You have good written communication skills and can draft clear, professional documents.
- You are adaptable and able to use your judgement to resolve routine issues appropriately.
- You are confident using Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook, Word and Excel, and are willing to learn new systems.
Experience of working in a senior management, executive or public sector environment, or supporting process improvements, would be an advantage but is not essential.

For employees who are currently on a fixed term contract with Bristol City Council, the secondment must not extend beyond the end of the fixed term period to ensure there is a substantive post to return to.
