We are seeking a Software Developer to join the UK Software & Application Team within ISS UK, working across a multi-system, multi-discipline environment.
This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to deliver high-quality output to strict deadlines, and confidence working independently or collaboratively within a team.
Travel Requirement: Open to candidates across the Central Midlands who can travel to Stoke when needed.
Job Description
We are looking for a skilled developer who can analyse business requirements and translate them into functional solutions, operating in line with ISS UK operational policies, procedures and processes.
The role involves regular communication with line management and stakeholders, with guidance available when required and results subject to managerial review throughout delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into functional and technical solutions
- Build and maintain business logic for software applications
- Develop, integrate and maintain data from back-end services and databases
- Produce design documentation, technical specifications, test plans and records
- Carry out fault finding, configuration control, version control and implementation reviews
- Provide technical support for web, desktop or mobile applications, including upgrades and debugging
- Ensure information and data security awareness is applied at all times
- Work closely with team members, stakeholders, third parties and suppliers to resolve development and technical issues
Professional and Personal Competencies/Qualifications
- Proven development experience in a similar role
- Strong experience with C#, .NET / .NET Core / .NET Framework
- Extensive experience working with SQL, including SQL Server and Oracle
- Experience building and consuming REST APIs, including internal and external APIs
- Ability to create technical specifications and test plans
- Experience delivering software platforms used across multiple products and organisational units
- Deep understanding of fundamental design principles for building scalable applications
- Strong analytical thinking, ownership of issues and excellent communication skills
- Passion for technology and a willingness to investigate and develop skills in new and emerging technologies
