Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join our clients dynamic engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving electrical systems across our facilities. This role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, system design, and mechanical knowledge, with proficiency in various software tools and programming languages. The ideal applicant will possess excellent problem-solving skills, experience with surface mount technology, and a keen eye for root cause analysis to ensure optimal operational efficiency.
Duties
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electrical systems and equipment, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Conduct root cause analysis to identify underlying issues affecting system performance.
- Program and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ARM-based embedded systems.
- Utilise Python, Perl, and firmware development skills to enhance automation processes.
- Solder components and perform debugging on electronic circuits, including surface mount technology (SMT).
- Analyse signal processing data to optimise system performance.
- Collaborate with mechanical engineers to integrate electrical systems into overall system design.
- Document technical procedures and maintain detailed records of maintenance activities using industry-standard schematics.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience with system design, circuit schematics, and electrical troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks, MATLAB, Simulink, and CAD.
- Strong knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs), firmware development, and signal processing.
- Experience with microcontrollers such as ARM architecture.
- Mechanical knowledge relevant to electrical systems integration and surface mount technology (SMT).
- Skills in debugging, soldering, and working with electronic components at a detailed level.
- Familiarity with C++, Python, Perl programming languages for automation scripting.
- Ability to perform root cause analysis effectively within complex electrical systems.
- Excellent organisational skills combined with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
