Estimator - Quantity Surveyor - Stafford. Construction within new build, fit-out or refurbishment experience.

You must live within 1 hour of Stafford. Have UK experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor and have a full UK driving licence. If not your c.v will be deleted

Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labour, and equipment
- Analyse project drawings and specifications to determine scope of work and resource requirements
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budgets
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and suppliers to gather pricing information and negotiate favourable terms
- Conduct risk assessments related to costs and develop contingency plans as necessary
- Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions related to projects
- Assist in tendering processes by preparing bid documents and evaluating tenders received
- Provide advice on cost-saving measures without compromising quality or safety standards
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and company policies related to cost management
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator within the construction industry
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards
- Excellent skills in cost control, budgeting, and financial analysis
- Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, suppliers, and team members
- Relevant qualification such as RICS accreditation or equivalent is preferred but not essential
- A proactive approach with attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
