Join Our Team as a Support Worker (Driver Required) – Make a Real Difference in Derry/Londonderry!

Are you a compassionate, patient, and dedicated individual with a passion for helping others? Mencap is looking for enthusiastic Support Workers to join our amazing team in Derry/Londonderry, where your role will have a lasting impact on the lives of people with learning disabilities. Please note a clean UK drivers license is required for this role.

Note: "Unfortunately, we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this vacancy at this point in time due to high internal demand and non-availability of certificates of sponsorship."

What You’ll Do:

Support people with learning disabilities in their daily lives and routines
Assist with personal care and medication, including bathing and dressing
Help with finances and everyday tasks like shopping and bill payments
Encourage independence and social inclusion by supporting community activities and groups
Use Positive Behaviour Support strategies to enhance quality of life
Build trusting, meaningful relationships based on empathy and respect

What We’re Looking For:

A genuine passion for supporting others
Excellent communication skills
Flexibility to work a range of shifts including evenings, weekends, and overnight
A positive, patient, and empathetic attitude
Willingness to register with NISCC and undergo an enhanced Access NI check
Clean UK drivers license is required for this role

Contract & Shift Details:

2 x 37.5 full-time contract - various hours
1 x 23 part-time waken night contract

Shifts:

Day Shifts: 9.00am - 9.00pm
Night Shifts: 9:00pm – 9:00am
(Rota prepared 4+ weeks in advance to support your work/life balance)
