Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Trainee or qualified Solicitor (IMMIGRATION & CRIMINAL LAW) to join our legal team. Duties
- Assist with legal research and prepare reports to support case development
- Draft and review legal documents, correspondence, and contracts using Microsoft Word
- Organise and maintain case files, documents, and records in accordance with organisational procedures
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders via email and telephone
- Manage schedules, appointments, and deadlines using Microsoft Outlook and organisational skills
- Utilise Microsoft Excel to compile data, track case progress, and generate reports
- Attend meetings, take minutes, and ensure follow-up actions are completed promptly
- Support senior solicitors in preparing for court appearances or negotiations
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality standards and data protection regulations
Requirements
- Proven communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information clearly
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong organisational skills with excellent time management abilities
- Fluency in English (both written and spoken)
- Good IT skills with the ability to adapt to new software or systems quickly
- Previous experience in a legal environment is advantageous but not essential for trainees
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- For qualified solicitors: valid practising certificate or equivalent recognised qualification
