Overview
London Churchill College (LCC) is committed to delivering excellence in its programmes of study. It seeks year on year to achieve improved performance of students and staff in the classroom to ensure students achieve a ‘value for money’ education and exceptional learning experience and engagement with the College. In this respect the role is crucial to the key strategic objective of LCC going forward, to continue to meet and exceed specific requirements set by external regulatory bodies. Internally, the role is about the enhancement of learning, teaching, assessment and outcomes across the provision, underpinned by improvement in year-on-year targets.
The key purposes of the role:
1. Support the development and implementation of the Colleges’ Quality Assurance policies and procedures when required.
2. To assist in the mapping of College policies and procedures against the relevant OfS Conditions, UK Quality Code, regulations and rules of relevant regulatory and awarding bodies.
3. Analyse termly feedback gathered from students, and ensure concerns raised by students are received by relevant boards, committees and groups and monitor responses to them.
4. Assist in investigations of suspected Academic Offences by students and work towards minimising the number of instances of Academic Concerns/Offences through conducting information sessions with staff and students.
5. Contribute to the writing of submissions and responses made to external organisations, including the Office for Students, current Awarding Bodies and any future awarding bodies the College may seek to develop partnerships with.
6. Assist in the preparations and logistics of external regulatory monitoring visits.
7. Support the timely writing of , Programme Annual Monitoring Reports (PAMRs), and Course Annual Monitoring Reports (CAMRs), ensuring that relevant data is provided to the authors in order for them to complete their reports.
8. Perform management checks on progression and achievement data, as well as the HESA Return.
9. Review assessment briefs for samples of all programmes delivered by the College and comment on the extent to which these assessment briefs are fit for purpose, relevant to work life and easy to understand.
10. To work with the Senior Quality Assurance Officer, Quality Manager and other relevant staff to support the administration of the Mitigating Circumstances and Appeals processes. 11. Participate in training activities both in the College and with external bodies to maintain a sound record of Continuing Professional Development.
12. Organise markers and assessors training to ensure marking is fair to students and adequate and useful feedback is provided to students. Review samples of internal verification forms of assessment briefs and assessment decisions.
13. Review accuracy of the records entered in the College SMS, submitted to the various committees and external agencies, and included in the College reports in relation to number of students, assessment submission, pass rates and progression rates.
14. Ensure implementation of internal and external verification system.
15. Any other duties as assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager, Deputy Vice-Principal , Principal and Directors.

Essential Requirements:
Qualifications
▪ Educated to Degree Level or equivalent (i.e. professional qualification or considerable relevant experience).
Experience
▪ Experience of working in Academic Quality Assurance in Higher Education ▪ Experience of working in a busy customer focused office environment
▪ Confident in use of IT systems, particularly good working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages
Skills and Abilities:
▪ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to deal with enquiries effectively and efficiently and with tact and diplomacy and deal comfortably with students and staff at all levels.
▪ A high standard of written and spoken English. While the role does not require C2 level, it is expected that the AQAO will be at C2 and should not require support in their written skills.
▪ Ability to use initiative to identify potential solutions for problems and queries.
▪ Ability to plan and prioritise own work, to manage conflicting priorities.
▪ Meticulous, working with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
▪ The ability to work with others in a team to achieve success including collaborating on projects or tasks.
