We are seeking a skilled and passionate and experienced Sushi Chef to join our culinary team INSIDE THE TESCO SUPERSTORE GREAT DUNMOW CM61SF . The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Japanese cuisine and demonstrate exceptional culinary skills, particularly in sushi preparation. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating high-quality sushi dishes that meet our restaurant's standards while ensuring food safety and hygiene practices are strictly followed.
Duties
- Prepare and present a variety of sushi dishes, including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls, using fresh ingredients.
- Ensure all food preparation complies with health and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service during peak hours.
- Assist in the development of new sushi recipes and menu items to enhance the dining experience.
- Maintain inventory of sushi ingredients and supplies, placing orders as necessary to ensure freshness.
- Train junior kitchen staff on sushi preparation techniques and food safety practices.
- Monitor food quality throughout the cooking process to ensure consistency and excellence in every dish.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role within a restaurant setting.
- Strong knowledge of culinary techniques related to Japanese cuisine, particularly sushi preparation.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations in the kitchen environment.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- A passion for cooking and creativity in meal presentation is highly desirable.
