About the Practice

We are a well-established and growing accountancy practice providing high-quality services to a diverse portfolio of owner-managed businesses and individuals. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Accounts Assistant to join our friendly and supportive team.

The Role

This is a hands-on role suitable for an Accounts Assistant with at least 3 years’ experience within an accountancy practice. You will work closely with senior team members to deliver accurate and timely accounting services to clients.

Key Responsibilities

Preparation of accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
Preparation of VAT returns
Bookkeeping using cloud-based software (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks, Sage)
Assisting with management accounts
Liaising with clients and responding to day-to-day queries
Supporting senior accountants with ad-hoc accounting and compliance work

Requirements

Minimum 3 years’ experience working in an accountancy practice (essential)
AAT qualified or part-qualified / qualified by experience
Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and VAT
Confidence using accounting software such as Quickbooks and Xero and Microsoft Excel
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
Professional and confident client communication skills
