Sherwood Forest Hospitals are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated HCPC registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist to join the Department of Cellular Pathology. The successful candidate must have completed the IBMS Specialist Portfolio in Cellular Pathology.
The primary role is to serve as a registered Specialist Biomedical Scientist, providing a diagnostic service to clinicians and other users to aid in diagnosis and treatment. This includes conducting scientific work within the laboratory, analysing initial findings, and identifying necessary follow-up actions.
If you do not hold but are working towards the IBMS Specialist Diploma, you maybe considered for interview, however, if successful, pay would reflect Annex 21 of Band 6 under Agenda For Change Terms and Conditions until the IBMS Specialist Portfolio is achieved.
The pay at annex 21 will depend on what stage of the Specialist Portfolio the successful applicant may be at. In line with Agenda for Change annex 21 this will be based on:
Up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75% of the top of the band
More than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70% of the top of the band
More than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65% of top of the band
More than three years from completion of training: 60% of the top of band
