About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Qualified Greenkeeper to join our team. As a Qualified Greenkeeper, you will play a key role in maintaining and presenting the golf course to the highest possible standards. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will be responsible for all aspects of course maintenance, including turf management, machinery operation, course set-up, irrigation, and bunker maintenance. You will contribute to the planning and delivery of maintenance programmes, assist with course improvement projects, and ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to a professional standard. The successful candidate will take pride in producing exceptional playing conditions and helping to deliver an outstanding golfing experience for members and visitors alike.
Key Responsibilities Golf Course Maintenance
- Carry out all aspects of golf course maintenance to the highest standards.
- Mow and maintain greens, tees, surrounds, fairways, rough and semi-rough.
- Prepare and maintain bunkers, gardens, pathways and clubhouse surroundings.
- Set up the golf course, including changing holes, moving tee markers and marking hazards.
- Apply fertilisers, topdressings and other turf treatments as directed.
- Monitor and assist with the control of pests, weeds and turf diseases.
- Carry out irrigation and drainage maintenance as required.
- Assist with course construction and development projects.
Team Leadership
- Lead by example and help supervise the greenkeeping and gardening teams.
- Support the training and development of staff.
- Help maintain high standards of productivity, presentation and professionalism across the department.
Machinery & Health & Safety
- Perform daily machinery and equipment checks.
- Maintain machinery, tools and equipment in clean and safe working order.
- Report any defects or damage promptly.
- Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety policies, risk assessments and safe working procedures.
- Maintain accurate machinery, fuel and maintenance records.
Course Development & Administration
- Assist with planning and implementing course improvement projects.
- Provide feedback and recommendations to the Course Manager regarding course condition and improvements.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
Essential
- NVQ Level 2 in Sports Turf / Greenkeeping.
- Minimum of 3 years' greenkeeping experience.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong understanding of golf course maintenance practices.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- A positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Desirable
- Experience supervising staff or leading small teams.
- Experience in irrigation systems and machinery maintenance.
- Knowledge of golf course construction and renovation projects.
- PA1, PA2A and PA6A qualifications.

- Annualised 40hours contract, summer hours 6am- 3pm, Winter 7am- 1pm, weekend work is included, working 4.5hrs every third weekend.
