Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Quality Engineer to join our team. This role is critical in ensuring the quality and compliance of internal processes and supplied components and materials, supporting our commitment to excellence in manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in quality systems, supplier management, and manufacturing processes, ideally with experience in regulated industries such as aerospace, medical devices, or automotive. The Quality Engineer will collaborate closely with suppliers and internal teams to drive continuous improvement and uphold industry standards including IATF 16949:2016, and ISO 9001.

Duties

Conduct internal process and supplier audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with quality requirements.
Lead root cause analysis investigations for internal process and supplier-related quality issues.
Manage the supplier qualification process including PPAP submissions, process audits, and capability studies.
Collaborate with supply chain and sourcing teams to select and qualify new suppliers.
Monitor supplier performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address non-conformances.
Support process engineering initiatives to improve manufacturing quality systems and reduce variability.
Facilitate continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies.
Ensure adherence to quality control, quality assurance, and quality management systems throughout the supply chain.
Maintain documentation related to quality activities in compliance with industry standards.

Skills

Strong knowledge of industry standards including IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001.
Proficiency with quality tools such as PPAP, APQP and root cause analysis.
Experience with manufacturing processes, process engineering, assembly operations, and supply chain management.
Mechanical knowledge coupled with expertise in quality control and assurance practices.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration across cross-functional teams.
