ABOUT GEOGROW
GeoGrow is a specialist contractor and product supplier delivering innovative solutions for reinforced soil, retaining walls, slope stabilisation, erosion control, and vegetated landscape systems. We work with clients across housing, infrastructure, utilities, construction, and environmental sectors, providing engineered products and services that improve biodiversity, restore habitats, and support responsible development.
As we enter an ambitious phase of growth, we are strengthening our commercial team with a proactive, commercially driven Internal Sales & Business Development Executive who will play a central role in expanding GeoGrow's client base and market reach.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This is a business development-led role at its core. The primary mission is to identify, engage, and convert new commercial opportunities across GeoGrow's target sectors, building a pipeline of qualified leads through structured outbound prospecting, specification engagement, and relationship development with contractors, consultants, specifiers, and procurement teams.
The role is office-based and operates across telephone, email, video, and digital channels. You will manage the full early-stage sales cycle, from first contact through to quotation and close, working closely with the Sales Director and technical team to deliver winning proposals and grow GeoGrow's revenue base. Inbound enquiry management forms a secondary but important part of the role: all inbound leads must be qualified thoroughly and progressed with urgency.
This position suits a commercially minded, self-starting individual who enjoys hunting for new business, is comfortable engaging with decision-makers, and has the tenacity to develop pipeline over longer technical sales cycles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development & Pipeline Generation
– Proactively identify and target new prospects within GeoGrow's core sectors: housing, infrastructure, civils, utilities, landscaping, and environmental.

– Conduct structured outbound telephone and email campaigns to generate qualified new business opportunities.
– Engage specifiers and design consultants to position GeoGrow products within live and forthcoming project specifications.
– Develop a thorough understanding of GeoGrow's product range, including Rootlok, GeoBlok, Geomesh, Geoslope, Gabions, and hydroseeding, to hold credible, value-led conversations with technically minded clients.
– Manage and convert inbound enquiries from web, email, and telephone with urgency and commercial rigour, qualifying leads against opportunity criteria.
– Deliver compelling online product presentations and virtual demonstrations to prospects.
– Prepare, issue, and follow up on competitive quotations to actively progress and close opportunities.
– Track all activity, opportunities, and pipeline stages accurately in HubSpot CRM, maintaining an up-to-date and reliable forecast.
– Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities within the existing client base.
Client Relationship Management
– Build trusted, long-term relationships with key contacts including main contractors, groundwork subcontractors, consulting engineers, landscape architects, and specialist distributors.
– Maintain structured, proactive communication with existing accounts to understand forward project pipelines, repeat requirements, and new opportunities.
– Act as a knowledgeable and reliable point of contact, providing accurate product information, technical guidance, and timely responses to client queries.
– Support field sales activity with pre-qualification, lead preparation, and handover.
Administration & Reporting
– Maintain meticulous CRM records in HubSpot, ensuring all client interactions, quotes, and opportunity movements are captured and current.
– Assist in producing regular sales reports, pipeline forecasts, and market intelligence updates for the Sales Director.
– Collaborate with operations and logistics to ensure seamless order processing and project delivery.
– Support marketing campaigns by following up promptly on campaign-generated and event-generated leads.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Essential
– Demonstrated experience in business development, outbound sales, account management, or a similarly proactive commercial role.
– Confident, persuasive communicator, comfortable initiating contact with and presenting to decision-makers at all levels.
– Strong prospecting skills: experienced in generating and qualifying new opportunities through cold and warm outreach via telephone and email.
– Commercially minded with a clear focus on pipeline generation, conversion rates, and revenue contribution.
– Highly organised with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple live opportunities simultaneously.
– Proficient in CRM systems; experience with HubSpot is advantageous.
– Self-sufficient and capable of managing workload independently within a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Desirable
– Experience in construction, civil engineering, environmental products, landscaping, ground engineering, or a related technical sector.
– Familiarity with specification sales cycles, tendering processes, or selling into contractor and consultant markets.
– Ability to interpret basic technical product specifications or project drawings (full training provided).
PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES
– Proactive and self-motivated, driven to generate activity and opportunity rather than wait for enquiries to arrive.
– Target-focused with a competitive, results-oriented approach and a genuine desire to achieve and exceed commercial goals.
– Persistent and resilient, comfortable nurturing and progressing pipeline over longer technical sales cycles without losing momentum.
– Positive and solutions-focused: finds a way forward even in complex or competitive situations.
– Collaborative team player who supports colleagues across sales, operations, and technical functions.
– Commercially astute with genuine ambition to grow with the business as GeoGrow expands.
– Professional, reliable, and credible, someone clients trust to represent GeoGrow well.
