Full job description

Job Introduction

The Facilities Team are a small team responsible for the maintenance, safety and security of Wyre Forest District Council’s buildings. Based at Wyre Forest House the post holder will work to ensure the buildings under the team’s control run efficiently and effectively to the benefit of all users.

The role will include:

Opening and locking of operational buildings
Minor repairs and maintenance
Providing an internal postal service between sites
Daily/weekly/monthly inspections, and testing of building systems e.g. fire alarms
To service meeting rooms and civic functions
Liaison with contractors, and supervision whilst on site
This is an annualised hours role (300 hours per annum), to provide cover as and when required.
The role will require you to work flexibly on a rota basis covering a variety of shifts including weekends, evenings, bank holidays and Christmas working.

About You:

Be able to demonstrate a sound educational background and have I.T. skills – preferably Microsoft programmes.
General awareness of H & S procedures
Be prepared to undergo on-going training, as appropriate.
Possess, or be willing to obtain, first-aid training and fire marshal training certificates
Skilful at communicating with people, openly, directly and honestly.
You set and uphold the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical behaviour that inspires the trust and others within the organisation.
Be able to show a diplomatic and courteous manner.
Ability to work on your own initiative to achieve results.
Ability to respond to customers’ needs to ensure their expectations are met.
Previous experience in a similar role would be desirable.
You will be required to provide a suitable vehicle for this post
