Trainee Contracts Manager
Salary: £25,000 – £27,000

About the Role
Construo Recruitment is working with an established insurance reinstatement contractor to recruit a Trainee Contracts Manager to support the delivery of domestic and commercial property repairs following fire, flood, escape of water, storm, and subsidence damage.
This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in contracts management within the insurance repair and construction sector. You will work closely with an experienced Contracts Manager and receive full training, mentoring, and structured progression.
Projects typically range from £500 to £100,000 and involve a mix of surveying, coordination, subcontractor management, and project delivery support.
Key Responsibilities
Assist the Contracts Manager with the delivery of reinstatement projects from instruction to completion
Attend site visits and surveys to assess damage and support reporting
Assist in pricing and estimating works for insurance claims and tenders
Support organisation and coordination of subcontractors and trades
Attend pre-start meetings and assist with project setup and planning
Monitor project progress, programme, and costs under supervision
Support delivery of projects within timeframes and agreed margins
Assist with health & safety compliance, site inspections, and documentation
Help prepare interim valuations, payment applications, and final accounts
Maintain accurate project records and documentation
Requirements
Strong interest in construction, surveying, or contracts management
Good communication and organisational skills
Competent IT skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Willingness to learn and develop under experienced supervision
Full UK driving licence (essential)
Desirable (not essential):
Exposure to insurance reinstatement or property repair works
Basic understanding of construction trades and refurbishment works
Relevant construction, surveying, or estimating studies or qualifications
Training & Progression
