Caretaker / Maintenance Person – Student Accommodation

Location: 1 Sansome Walk, Worcester

We are seeking a reliable, practical, and self-motivated Caretaker / Maintenance Person to oversee the day-to-day upkeep and management of a student accommodation block.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining property standards, and can provide a responsive and friendly service to student residents.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine maintenance and minor repair work throughout the building.
Monitor the condition of communal areas and ensure they remain clean, safe, and well-presented.
Conduct regular property inspections and report any issues requiring specialist attention.
Coordinate access for contractors and oversee maintenance works when required.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from residents.
Ensure health and safety standards are maintained throughout the property.
Manage waste and recycling arrangements and monitor external areas.
Assist with room inspections, resident check-ins/check-outs, and general property management tasks.
Be available to respond to urgent maintenance issues when necessary.

Requirements

Previous experience in property maintenance, caretaking, facilities management, or a similar role.
Good practical skills across basic plumbing, decorating, carpentry, and general repairs.
Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Reliable, trustworthy, and organised approach to work.
Understanding of health and safety responsibilities.
Full UK driving licence preferred but not essential.
