Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Self Employed Painter and Decorator to undertake painting and decorating projects on a freelance basis. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to manage your own schedule while delivering high-quality finishes for a variety of clients. A valid driving licence is essential for transportation between sites.
Responsibilities
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and priming prior to painting or decorating
- Apply paints, varnishes, wallpapers, and other finishes with precision and attention to detail
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and client specifications
- Manage your own tools, materials, and equipment efficiently
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide professional advice
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment during and after completion of projects
- Travel between different sites as required, ensuring timely completion of all jobs
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting and decorating
- Strong communication skills in English to liaise confidently with clients and suppliers
- Valid driving licence for transportation between sites
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Organised, reliable, and capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to painting and decorating tasks
